VASTU SHANTI

VASTU SHANTI

Vastu Shanti Puja is a Hindu ritual performed before the construction or moving into a new home or building to seek blessings and remove any negative energies or obstacles that may affect the well-being and prosperity of the occupants.

The puja is typically performed by a priest or pundit and involves several steps such as:

  1. Sankalp: Setting the intention and purpose of the puja.
  2. Ganesha Puja: Invoking Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, to bless the new home and ensure that the construction or moving process goes smoothly.
  3. Navagraha Puja: Worshipping the nine planets to ensure that their energies are balanced and favorable for the occupants.
  4. Vastu Purush Puja: Invoking Vastu Purush, the deity of the building site, to bless the new home and ensure that it is free from any negative energies.
  5. Agni Puja: Worshipping Agni, the god of fire, to purify the new home and remove any negative energies.
  6. Kalash Puja: Worshipping the Kalash, a sacred vessel filled with water, flowers, and other offerings, to invite positive energy and blessings into the new home.
  7. Ganapathi Homam: Offering prayers to Lord Ganesha and performing a fire ritual to seek his blessings.
  8. Vastu Homam: Performing a fire ritual to appease Vastu Purush and seek his blessings for the new home.
  9. Poornahuti: Concluding the puja with the offering of prayers and sweets to the deities.

After the puja, the priest may also perform a Vastu Shastra analysis of the new home to ensure that it is aligned with the principles of Vastu Shastra, an ancient Indian science of architecture and design.
