Chaughadiya

What is Choghadiya?

Choghadiya is a table of astrology which tells the condition of 24 hours of the day on the basis of astronomical position. In this, day, Nakshatra, Tithi, Yoga and Karan are given for every day. The auspicious and inauspicious times during the day and night for worship, marriage ceremonies, festivals, etc., are classified in different tables of this table, based on the position of the planets.

Method of calculation of Choghadiya

For the calculation of Choghadiya, each day is divided into two time periods. Day time which is the period from sunrise to sunset and night time which is the period from sunset to sunrise. These two parts are then divided into eight equal parts. Each four of these eight divisions is equal to one clock and this division of time is called Choghadiya.
