Krishna Janmashtami

The puja (worship) for Krishna Janmashtami is usually performed at midnight, as it is believed that Lord Krishna was born at that time. Here are the steps for performing the puja:

1. Clean the Puja area: Before starting the puja, the puja area should be cleaned and decorated with flowers and rangolis.
2. Prepare the Puja thali: The puja thali should contain items like roli, rice, flowers, incense, lamp, fruits, and sweets.
3. Place the idol or picture of Lord Krishna: The idol or picture of Lord Krishna should be placed on a clean cloth or a wooden platform.
4. Offer roli and rice: Take some roli and rice in your hand and offer it to Lord Krishna.
5. Light the lamp and incense: Light the lamp and incense and offer them to Lord Krishna.
6. Offer flowers and fruits: Offer flowers and fruits to Lord Krishna.
7. Sing devotional songs: Sing devotional songs dedicated to Lord Krishna.
8. Perform Aarti: Perform Aarti by waving the lamp in front of Lord Krishna.
9. Break the fast: If you are fasting for Janmashtami, you can break the fast after the puja by eating some fruits or sweets.
