About Diwali Puja

Diwali is a festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists, usually in October or November. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Ganesh Lakshmi Puja is an important ritual performed during Diwali. It is believed that on this day, Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, visits the homes of her devotees and blesses them with good fortune. Lord Ganesh, the remover of obstacles, is also worshiped on this day to ensure that the puja is performed successfully.

Here are the steps to perform the Ganesh Lakshmi Puja during Diwali:

  1. Clean the house thoroughly and decorate it with rangolis, diyas, and flowers.
  2. Place a small kalash (pot) filled with water, betel nut, a coin, and flowers on a bed of rice in the puja room.
  3. Place idols or pictures of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi on a raised platform and decorate them with flowers, garlands, and jewelry.
  4. Light the diyas and incense sticks and offer flowers, fruits, and sweets to the deities.
  5. Offer the puja to Lord Ganesh first by chanting his mantras and performing aarti.
  6. Then, offer the puja to Goddess Lakshmi by chanting her mantras and performing aarti.
  7. Distribute the prasad (blessed food) among family members and guests.
  8. Light fireworks and celebrate the joyous occasion of Diwali with friends and family.

It is important to note that the puja should be performed with devotion and sincerity, and the blessings of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi will surely bring prosperity and happiness into your life.
